On the last day of each year, I like to take a few minutes to reflect on all that has happened and changed. With life moving so quickly, the past easily becomes a blur and important moments and milestones fade as we continue to look to the future. In the new year I want to stay in the present as much as possible, while still fondly remembering the past and hopefully anticipating the future. Looking back at this year...
We traveled to Peru and I crossed visiting Machu Picchu off my bucket list.
Lorenzo and I celebrated our one year anniversary, with wine and hamburgers of course.
I quit my job.
Lorenzo graduated with his Ph.D. and accepted a job at Columbia University.
We moved from Atlanta to New York City.
I started graduate school at Harvard.
I began practicing yoga more frequently and now it has become a big part of my life.
Lorenzo turned 30!
I spent the fall commuting between Boston/Cambridge and New York, so I could attend my top-choice grad school but also spend time in the city with my husband and dog.
We made new friendships and strengthened old ones.
There have of course been struggles and ups-and-downs, but overall I am incredibly happy, centered, and more sure of myself, my goals, and my beliefs.
My resolutions for 2015 are to meditate at least five minutes each day and cook more (healthy) meals.
Cheers to 2014, thank you for everything that you brought. May 2015 be filled with just as much love, excitement, growth, and adventure.
